Grounding Platitudes was founded in 2023 by Derric Pennington who saw a need for more transparency and accountability (and humor) in the sustainability community.

Our team is made up a PhD Conservation Scientist and cartoonist who just happens to inhabit the same body. Derric is passionate about supporting our community's efforts to break the bonds of golden handcuffs and NDAs. Sharing research on sustainability and cartoons and essays.
